Saññā, is one of the five aggregates (Skandhas) in Buddhism and refers to Perception or recognition. It is the mental process that identifies and labels sensory experiences, enabling us to recognize objects, sounds, smells, tastes, and tactile sensations. Sanna also involves the recognition of mental objects, such as thoughts and emotions. By understanding Sanna, practitioners gain insight into how perceptions are formed and how they contribute to our experiences of reality, helping to develop mindfulness and reduce the attachments that lead to suffering.
